Bluebird Project to Begin

The Northern Neck Audubon Society will begin their annual bluebird nesting box project next month. This year’s goal is to build 1,100 boxes by November 21st - an increase of 100 boxes over last year, due to increased demand.

Equipment and materials for the project will be moved into Albert Pollard Sr.’s workshop in White Stone during the week of November 3rd. Woodcutting will take place November 10th through 12th; and assembly will begin on November 13th.

Volunteers are needed for this important project, which helps to preserve and maintain the bluebird population in our area. To participate, contact Ron Feldman at 580-8987 or Fred Witschey at 453-9090. No woodcutting experience is required, and volunteers may work for as little or as much time as they like over the duration of the project.
