The Northern Neck Audubon Society (NNAS)
recently presented a donation to the Friends of
Dragon Run, a group committed to the preservation of
the Dragon Run wilderness area.
The 203-acre Dragon Run wilderness area
in the Middle Peninsula is a unique ecosystem which
has been ranked second in ecological significance
among 232 areas investigated in a Smithsonian
Institution study of the Chesapeake Bay region.
NNAS�s donation will be used by the
Friends of Dragon Run to help purchase 103
additional acres adjacent to their Big Island
property.
