Point Beaches on the Chesapeake Bay are home to the
increasingly rare Beach Tiger Beetle and offer
year-round vantage points for waterfowl, brown pelicans,
shorebirds, gannets and nesting diamond back terrapins.
Two platforms in the salt marshes offer views of the
Bay, beaches, marshes, as well as coastal forest.
Listen for rails and watch for various hawks and
reliable sightings of harriers. Migration brings a wide
diversity of songbirds as they follow the coast of the
Bay and find excellent feeding in this diverse
environment.
