Your Totusky Creek

Bill Portlock has graciously offered to take a group from NNAS aboard his personal boat, a 17’ Whaler, on a trip up Totusky Creek in Richmond County.

This creek, flowing from fresh water to salt along about a 10 mile course, is a compact example of the flora and fauna found in many of the larger Bay tributaries. In April the NNAS Board voted to grant $1000 in each of the next three years to a William and Mary College research team to study and catalogue the plants found in the Totusky Creek water shed.

We have tentatively scheduled the trip for Thursday, June 17, leaving from the public boat landing on route 3 about six miles south of Warsaw. Please give Jim Groff a call at 804-453-5891 if you would like to go.
