Master Gardeners Present Program on BAYSCAPING
 

 

The Northern Neck Master Gardeners and Virginia Cooperative Extension present �BAYSCAPING,� a "Gardening in the Northern Neck" Program, on Saturday April 26, 9 to 3 at the Lancaster Middle School, 191 School Street in Kilmarnock.

Bayscaping is an environmentally sound method of landscaping that benefits the Bay, wildlife and you.  The program will be presented in four sessions: 1) What is it and why is it beneficial to �Bayscape;� 2) How to Practice Conservation Landscaping; 3) Planning a Bayscape Design; 4) Beneficial Plants � The Gardeners Best Friend.

An alternative fourth session will be sponsored by NAPS with a grant from Fish America.  After a lecture by a marine scientist from Virginia Institute of Marine Science, participants will proceed to a nearby waterfront location for hands-on practice in transplanting seedlings.

Registration is $15 before Apr. 21 with an option to order a lunch for $7.  After Apr 21 the registration fee is $20 and no option for lunch.  Call 580-5694 for more information and to request a registration brochure.
