Celia Atwood
In Memoriam
Celia Atwood A long time friend of NNAS has departed, Celia Atwood, a most giving, kind, self-effacing, hardworking, wise, energetic little lady died last month.  Cele left a legacy several people working together could not achieve in a lifetime.  There is a noticeable void in this community.   For NNAS she served as an officer in the early 70's, she stayed active on the NNAS Board serving as publicity and newsletter chairs for years.  In fact, the last NNAS newsletter was sent out courtesy of Cele.   She and her late husband Wallace developed the Windmill Point Resort; she did research for the Historic Christ Church Foundation; was active in Women of Grace; held high office in the Woman's Club of White Stone; and was a participating member of the Rappahannock Garden Club.   Cele recently attended her 70th class reunion at Vassar.  The evening she died she was busy working with her grandson, Ben, on a speech he was preparing.  She died peacefully in her sleep in her own bed in her own home at age 92.
